Well, if you ever suspected that perhaps the TenTelescopes crew were eccentric, today confirmed it. We held a stargazing event, with no stars, while it was snowing. Sound kind of sad? It definitely wasn't, because our backup plan was to host the 1st ever Guelph Telescope Games! It was a blast to see new astronomers, young and old, compete for delicious prizes courtesy of our new friends at the Exhibition Park Neighbourhood Group (www.epng.ca).
We spent the afternoon doing final checks on seven of the Skyward 150 telescopes that we have been building over the past few months.
We had an estimated 60 people attend the games, which saw contestants step up to our instruments to play Telescope Target Practice, Telescope Trivia, and Telescope Texting.
Hooray and thanks to everyone who made it happen!
